Shoprite’s Sales and Stores in the 2026 Financial Year
Shoprite runs Shoprite, Checkers and Usave supermarkets, along with the Sixty60 delivery service. In the year to June 2026 it reported sales of R270.8 billion from about 3,700 stores.
The group employs about 174,000 people and paid R21.7 billion in salaries and benefits. Sixty60 revenue grew 34.7% to R25.5 billion. Engelbrecht has put the results down to steady execution of strategy and careful acquisitions. Shareholders received R4.7 billion in dividends for the year, and Shoprite’s market value stood near R199 billion in October 2026. Its stores sell about R5 billion of goods each week. Engelbrecht has called the group’s 6% trading margin a milestone.
