OCP Group’s Phosphate and Fertiliser Business

OCP mines phosphate rock and turns it into phosphoric acid and fertilisers, with industrial sites in Morocco and sales across Africa, Europe, the Americas and Asia. When Terrab arrived in 2006, the state-owned company mainly sold raw rock. He shifted it toward producing finished fertilisers in Morocco, and annual fertiliser output rose from 2 to 3 million tonnes to about 12 million tonnes within a few years.

For 2025, OCP Group reported revenue of 113.94 billion dirhams, up 17.5 percent on 2024, with EBITDA of 43.19 billion dirhams. The company employs about 17,600 people.

Africa Focus and Green Investment at OCP

Under Terrab, OCP has worked to supply fertilisers suited to local soils and crops in around 40 African countries. In 2024 it signed a partnership with ENGIE covering renewable power, energy storage, green hydrogen, green ammonia and desalination.
