500 Guest Posting Websites Sorted by Niche (2026 List)

Real publications and company blogs that publish outside writers, grouped into 29 niches, with pitch tips and Google’s rules on guest post links.

There are 500 guest posting websites below, sorted into 29 niches from SEO to sports, and every one publishes work from outside writers through a write-for-us page, contributor program or open pitch process. They are real publications and company blogs, not link farms or marketplaces that sell placements. Each table gives the site, its domain and a one-line note on what it accepts, so you can shortlist ten targets in your niche in a few minutes.

For this update, we checked the write-for-us or guideline pages of 42 sites across 19 niches in late October and early November 2026, and dropped five that had closed or now sell placement. One warning applies to the whole list: guidelines change, editors leave and programs pause, so read each site’s current rules before you write a word.

What This List Covers and How to Use It

  • The list holds 500 unique domains in 29 niches, checked for duplicates with a script. Technology, marketing, education and business have the most open doors.
  • Many of the best-known sites are pitch-first publications. They want a short idea email before a draft, and some pay writers.
  • Google’s spam policies count guest posts with keyword-stuffed anchor text as link spam. Paid links are allowed only when marked rel=”sponsored” or rel=”nofollow”.
  • Crypto and finance attract the most paid placement posing as guest posting. A price list, a media kit or a “dofollow guaranteed” promise means advertising.
  • A good pitch names one specific idea, shows why you can write it and links two samples. That is enough to set you apart from the template emails editors delete.

How We Built This List of Guest Posting Websites

Most guest post lists online recycle the same few hundred names, and many quietly mix in sites that only sell links. We started from publications and company blogs known for running contributor programs, then kept a site only if it publishes outside writers on editorial merit. We left out private blog networks, guest post marketplaces and any site whose “write for us” page is really a price list.

The list mixes two kinds of sites on purpose. The first is the classic guest post blog, often a software company, that accepts full drafts in exchange for an author bio. The second is the pitch-based publication, such as a magazine, trade title or opinion desk, that commissions pieces from freelancers and experts and often pays for them. Both publish outside writers, but the second group is harder to crack and usually worth more to your reputation.

We did not add domain ratings or traffic figures. Those numbers shift every month and differ by tool, so check them yourself at the time you pitch. Our guide to cheaper ways to check a site’s backlinks and traffic covers tools that do this without a monthly plan.

The chart below shows how the 500 sites spread across niches. Technology, marketing, education, web development and business have the most sites, while crypto and gaming have the fewest.

SEO Blogs That Accept Guest Posts

SEO editors are the hardest audience on this page, because they read pitches about link building all day and can smell one written only to get a link. Search Engine Journal and Search Engine Land both publish contributor guidelines, so read them closely before you pitch. In this niche, a post built on original data or a test you ran yourself gets read. Tool companies such as Nightwatch, which says outright it is accepting guest posts, want topics close to what their users do every day. SEO Sandwitch tops the table for a simple reason: it publishes practical SEO guides and statistics roundups, so a post built on fresh numbers fits right in. For a wider reading list, our roundup of the most active SEO blogs in India covers more names worth studying before you pitch.

Digital Marketing and Content Marketing Sites

Marketing blogs form one of the biggest groups on this list, and they also have some of the most crowded inboxes on the web. The sites below range from practitioner publications like MarketingProfs and the Content Marketing Institute to software company blogs that accept guest posts on topics close to their product. Company blogs are often the easier yes, but a conversion tool such as Convert or Omniconvert wants posts about testing and growth rather than general marketing advice, so match the pitch to the product.

Social Media and Email Marketing Blogs

Technology and Cybersecurity Sites That Take Contributed Articles

Tech trade sites call guest posts “contributed articles,” and most expect vendor-neutral writing. A security piece for Dark Reading or Help Net Security should read like an expert’s view of a problem, with no mention of your product. DZone also invites authors for its Trend Reports and Refcards, which are longer reference pieces. If you work in IT, these sites are the best place on this list to build a byline that hiring managers and buyers recognize.

Web Design and Development Blogs, Several of Them Paid

Developer publications are where guest writing most often turns into paid work, and several sites in this table pay for tutorials, and the community-kept technical writing list on GitHub tracks developer blogs that pay for articles, including LogRocket, Honeybadger, FusionAuth and Vultr. Smashing Magazine publishes a full guide to writing a Smashing article, and it sets the highest bar in this group. Write a tutorial that you would bookmark yourself, and test every line of code before you send it.

Business, Startup and Nonprofit Publications

Business publications split into two groups, and the first is small business blogs such as AllBusiness, StartupNation and Young Upstarts, which post guidelines and accept full drafts. The second is research outlets such as Harvard Business Review and MIT Sloan Management Review, which want idea pitches backed by data. We also added nonprofit titles like the Stanford Social Innovation Review here, because founders of social enterprises often fit them better than startup blogs.

Ecommerce, Retail and Supply Chain Sites

Retail and logistics trade sites rarely appear on guest post lists, which makes them less crowded. Their readers run stores, warehouses and fleets, so editors want operator insight: what cut returns, how a new routing rule changed delivery times. A short, data-led piece from someone who did the work has a strong chance here.

Finance and Accounting Guest Posting Sites

Finance is a YMYL (your money or your life) topic, so editors often check a writer’s credentials before they read the draft. Investor sites such as Seeking Alpha run formal contributor programs, while banking and fintech sites like Finextra let members post to community blogs. Doctors writing about money have two strong homes in The White Coat Investor and Physician on FIRE. Expect a fact check on every number, and say which country your advice applies to.

Health and Medicine Sites That Publish Outside Writers

Health sites mostly want clinicians, researchers and patients with lived experience, not marketers. KevinMD and STAT’s First Opinion are the best known outlets for doctors’ essays, and trade titles such as HIT Consultant and MedCity News take opinion pieces from health tech leaders. If you are not a clinician, a patient story is often the honest way in, but never pitch a health claim you cannot source to a study or official body.

Mental Health and Personal Growth Blogs

These sites run on personal stories told in the first person. Tiny Buddha publishes its submission guidelines openly, and Elephant Journal has a public page for writers. They want a lesson the reader can use, told through something that really happened to you. Self-help listicles with no story behind them get turned down fast.

Travel Websites Still Open to Pitches

Paid travel writing has shrunk over the past decade, and several old favorites have closed their doors to new submissions. In August 2026 Transitions Abroad was not accepting submissions of any kind and GoNOMAD had stopped publishing new stories, so we left both out. The sites below were open when checked, and their rules vary widely. Matador Network takes pitches through its pitch form or its Creators portal, while Intrepid Times only reads stories from subscribers to its free newsletter.

Lifestyle and Culture Sites That Take Essays

Lifestyle sites cover everything from personal essays to long reads on ideas. Listverse is a special case, because it takes completed lists through an online form, with country limits for writers who have not been published before. Salon, HuffPost Personal and Narratively want first-person stories with a clear point of view. The Good Men Project takes submissions through open calls on themes it announces on its site.

Food and Drink Publications

Food media has its own pitch culture, and most of these outlets explain it in public. Civil Eats has a page on how to pitch its food systems desk, while VegNews and Food Tank both run write-for-us pages. Recipe sites like Taste of Home and Allrecipes are different. They publish reader recipes, not articles, which still counts as contributed content. Restaurant trade titles such as QSR Magazine publish contributed pieces from people in the restaurant business.

Education and eLearning Sites With Clear Guidelines

Education sites tend to have the clearest rules on this list. Edutopia invites teachers to write for it, Faculty Focus publishes contributor guidelines for college faculty, and eSchool News posts its submission rules. Getting Smart also has a write-for-us page, and across this group classroom experience is the price of entry. A teacher’s case study of one lesson that worked will beat a vendor’s overview of edtech trends.

Real Estate and Mortgage Sites

Real estate guest posts work best when they come from agents, lenders and investors with deals behind them. Inman publishes both contributor guidelines and separate local contributor guidelines, and HousingWire carries opinion pieces on housing and mortgage policy. Investor sites such as BiggerPockets and Mashvisor want numbers from real rentals, such as cash flow and cap rates. Be ready to show your license or track record if an editor asks.

Parenting and Family Sites

Parenting sites publish personal essays far more often than how-to guides. Grown and Flown focuses on raising teens and young adults and takes work through a write-for-us page, while Kveller posts submission guidelines for essays on Jewish family life. Check each site’s rules on previously published work before you submit. Read three recent essays on the site before you write yours, because tone matters as much as topic.

Fashion, Beauty and Wedding Sites

Fashion and beauty media prefer pitches from people inside the industry, such as designers, buyers, stylists and cosmetic chemists, while wedding blogs work differently. Photographers and planners submit real weddings and styled shoots, and the blog credits every vendor. If you shoot weddings, these submissions bring links from pages couples actually read.

Pet and Animal Sites

Pet publishing is a small and specialist corner of the web. Magazines like The Bark and Modern Dog want stories about life with animals, while trade titles such as Veterinary Practice News want writers who run or work in a clinic. Trainers, vets and groomers get the best response here, because generic pet care tips are already everywhere online.

Home, Garden and DIY Sites

Home and garden sites reward people who build and grow things. The Fine Gardening, Fine Homebuilding and Fine Woodworking titles publish work from experienced makers and tradespeople, and Hometalk and Instructables let members post their own projects with photos. Architecture sites like Dezeen and ArchDaily take project submissions from studios. Good photos of your own work often matter more than the words.

Sports and Outdoors Sites

Sports writing splits between regular team coverage and longer outdoor storytelling. Networks like FanSided, Last Word on Sports and Sportskeeda recruit writers to cover teams and leagues, which suits people who want to write often. Outdoor titles such as Outside, Backpacker and Climbing want stronger stories and fewer, better pitches. Cricket writers have a natural home at CricTracker, which covers the sport in depth.

Crypto and Blockchain Sites With Real Op-Ed Desks

Crypto is the niche most full of paid placement dressed up as guest posting. We dropped CryptoSlate because its contributor op-ed page sits inside its media kit, which signals advertising, not editorial. The six sites left publish opinion pieces on merit. Bitcoin Magazine runs outside views under a clear opinion label, and BeInCrypto has a guest op-ed author page. Keep any project you are tied to out of your piece, or disclose it in full.

Gaming and Game Development Sites

Gaming sites fall into two camps with very different readers. Developer sites like Game Developer and 80 Level want breakdowns from people who make games, such as how a level was lit or a shader built. Consumer sites like Kotaku, Rock Paper Shotgun and Eurogamer take freelance pitches with a fresh angle on games and the people who play them.

AI and Data Science Blogs Accepting Guest Posts

AI blogs get flooded with machine-written drafts, so their editors look hard for proof that the writer did the work described. Towards Data Science now runs on its own site and explains how to submit a byline. KDnuggets and Analytics Vidhya take tutorials with working code. A post that shares a notebook, a dataset and honest results, including what failed, gets accepted in this niche.

SaaS, Productivity and Product Management Blogs

Most of the sites in this table are software company blogs. They accept guest posts because outside experts help them cover topics their own teams cannot. The best pitch connects your experience to the problem their product solves. A project manager writing for ProofHub about running a remote sprint is a natural fit. Product and UX writers should look at Mind the Product and UXmatters, which publish deeper practitioner essays.

HR, Careers and Workplace Sites

HR publications want practitioners: recruiters, HR managers and learning leaders. TLNT and ERE cover talent and recruiting, while HRZone and HR Magazine serve UK readers. Career advice from someone who has hired hundreds of people carries weight that generic resume tips do not.

Sustainability and Energy Sites

Sustainability outlets range from activist magazines to energy trade titles. Grist, Yale Environment 360 and Mongabay are journalism outlets that take pitches. Renewable Energy World and Solar Power World publish contributed articles from engineers and developers. Greenwashing gets caught fast here, so back every claim about impact with a number and a source.

Legal Sites for Lawyers and Law Students

Legal sites are strict about who writes for them, and most of them want practicing lawyers with real cases behind their views. Law360 Expert Analysis and ABA Journal publish commentary from attorneys, while Legal Cheek gives law students a place to start. Indian lawyers and students should look at Bar and Bench, LiveLaw and the iPleaders blog. Add a clear note that your piece is not legal advice.

News, Policy and Opinion Outlets

Opinion desks are the hardest yes on this list, and the reward is credibility with readers and editors rather than traffic or links. The Diplomat, Foreign Policy and War on the Rocks want analysts with real expertise, while openDemocracy and The Elephant cover politics and rights from a regional view. Pitch fast when news breaks, since op-ed windows close within days.

Photography, Design and Writing Sites

Creative sites accept your photos, art and projects as well as your words. Photo blogs such as PetaPixel and Fstoppers publish stories and tutorials from photographers, and art sites like Colossal and Creative Boom feature submitted projects. Writers will find essay outlets such as Electric Literature, The Rumpus and The Sun Magazine, plus craft advice sites like Jane Friedman and The Write Life that run guest posts about publishing.

How to Pitch a Guest Post That Editors Answer

Editors at popular sites get a steady stream of pitches, and most of them are deleted after the first line. The emails that get answers are short, specific and clearly written by someone who reads the site, so follow these steps in order.

  1. Read the guidelines twice: note whether the site wants a pitch or a full draft, its word count, its link policy and where to send the email. Many sites reject anything that ignores these rules without reply.
  2. Read five recent posts: look at length, tone, headings and how authors use data. Check that your idea has not run in the last year.
  3. Find the right editor: use the contact named in the guidelines, and if none is named, the masthead or the bylines on the section you want will tell you who edits it. Email finder tools can help when only a name is listed, but always use the address the guidelines give if there is one.
  4. Pitch one idea, not five: give a working headline, two or three sentences on the angle, and why you can write it. Mention any original data, test or case you will include.
  5. Link two samples: pick published work close to the topic, and if you have none, a strong post on your own blog will do.
  6. Follow up once: wait the time the guidelines state, or about two weeks if they say nothing, then send one polite nudge and, after that, pitch the idea elsewhere.

A pitch built this way fits in under 150 words. This example is for a fictional SaaS blog:

Subject: Pitch: What 40 failed onboarding emails taught us about activation

Hi Priya, I lead lifecycle marketing at a 30-person HR software company, and I read your recent post on trial-to-paid conversion. I would like to write a 1,500-word piece on the 40 onboarding emails we tested last year, which ones lifted activation, and the three we killed. I can share the open and click rates for each version and the templates readers can copy. Two recent samples: [link] and [link]. Would this suit the blog?

Notice what the email leaves out, because there is no talk of backlinks, no list of topic options and no flattery beyond proof that the writer reads the blog. Editors care about their readers, so the pitch should too.

Guest Post Etiquette Once an Editor Says Yes

Getting the yes is only half the job, because how you handle the draft decides whether the editor will take your next pitch, and repeat bylines on the same site build more trust than one-off posts on many.

  • Hit the agreed length and deadline: if you need more time, say so early. Use a word counter so you land inside the site’s range instead of 800 words over it.
  • Send original, unpublished work: most sites want exclusive rights or at least first publication. Do not republish the post on your own blog unless the guidelines allow it, and then add a canonical tag or a clear note.
  • Follow the link rules: many sites allow one link in the author bio and none in the body. Never sneak in extra links after edits, and never sell a link inside a guest post you wrote.
  • Cite real sources: link studies and official data, not competitors’ blog posts that quote other blog posts. Editors check.
  • Accept edits gracefully: headlines and intros often change, so push back only on factual errors.
  • Share the post and answer comments: editors notice which writers bring readers, and a post that gets traffic earns you a second slot.

How to Spot a Link Farm Posing as a Guest Post Site

Search “write for us” plus any niche and much of page one will be sites that exist to sell links. Some of them look tidy and professional at first glance. Publishing on them can waste your money, and links from them can count as link spam. These signs are the quickest way to tell them apart from the real publications above.

  • A price list or “sponsored post” rates on the write-for-us page. Noobpreneur’s article page, for example, now presents content marketing services to get your article published and promoted, so we left it off this list.
  • “Dofollow links guaranteed.” No real editor promises the type of link before reading the piece.
  • Every topic under the sun: a site that wants posts on CBD, casinos, tech, health and travel at once has no real audience for any of them.
  • No named editors or staff bylines: real publications show who edits them, while link farms are mostly guest posts with no human voice of their own.
  • Links in every paragraph: open a few recent posts, and if each one carries several commercial links with exact-match anchors, the site sells them.
  • A media kit behind the “contribute” button: when the op-ed page sits inside an ad sales kit, as with the CryptoSlate page noted above, treat it as advertising.

Tools can help you confirm a hunch, since a sudden traffic drop or a backlink profile full of other link sellers both point to a farm. Our comparison of Semrush pricing against rival SEO tools can help you choose a plan for these checks.

What Google Says About Links in Guest Posts

Google does not ban guest posting, but it does treat guest posts used to manipulate rankings as spam. The link spam section of its spam policies lists articles, guest posts and press releases with optimized anchor text as an example of link spam, next to buying or selling links that pass ranking credit and running too many link swaps.

The same policy says buying and selling links for ads or sponsorship is a normal part of the web. It is not a violation as long as the link carries rel=”nofollow” or rel=”sponsored”. So if you pay for a placement, or a site charges you, the link should be marked sponsored. Google repeated the point in a July 2021 reminder on qualifying links, published alongside a link spam update.

For a writer, the safe path is simple: write for real publications, keep your links few and natural, use your brand or name as anchor text, and judge success by readers and leads, not by link count. A byline on a respected site is worth having even when its link carries nofollow.

Guest posting is also not the only way to get in front of a new audience. Podcast appearances reach people who would never read a blog post, and our list of podcast guest booking websites covers services that match experts with shows.

Common Questions From First-Time Guest Writers

Is Guest Posting Still Worth It in 2026?

Yes, when the goal is readers, reputation and referral traffic. A byline on a respected site in your field builds trust with buyers and editors alike. It stops being worth it when the only goal is links, because Google’s spam policies treat keyword-rich guest post links as link spam.

Are Guest Post Links Dofollow?

It depends on the site, since many publications give a followed link in the author bio, while others mark every outside link nofollow. Google says paid links must carry rel=”sponsored” or rel=”nofollow”, so a site that sells you a followed link is breaking its rules, not giving you a bargain.

How Do I Find Guest Posting Sites in My Niche?

Start with the tables above, then search Google for phrases such as “write for us”, “contributor guidelines” or “submission guidelines” plus your niche. Check every result for named editors, real staff bylines and the absence of a price list before you pitch.

Should I Pay for Guest Posts?

Paying for a placement is advertising, and under Google’s policy the link should be marked sponsored. Many of the best publications on this list actually pay writers instead. If a site asks you for money, treat it as an ad purchase and judge it on the audience it reaches.

How Long Does It Take to Hear Back From an Editor?

Response times vary from a few days to several weeks, and some sites say they only reply if interested. Check the guidelines for a stated window, and if there is none, wait about two weeks, follow up once, then pitch the idea somewhere else.
