Our First Pick for an LA Coworking Desk

Serendipity Labs at 915 Wilshire Boulevard is the best coworking space in Los Angeles for most solo workers. Its unlimited plan costs $249 a month, month to month. Also, the 7th Street/Metro Center station is a three-minute walk away, so you can skip the car.

Still, LA is a city of long drives. So if your week moves around, WeWork’s All Access Plus is the better buy. It opens 13 WeWork buildings in the region for $289 a month on a 12-month plan. Those buildings sit in Downtown, Santa Monica, Culver City, Century City, Pasadena, Glendale and the Valley.

We compiled prices from the official pages of five operators. Then we sorted every desk by neighborhood and worked out a yearly cost for one person. Besides that, we added parking fees and Metro walks wherever the operators publish them. The cheapest plan we found is a Regus coworking membership in Downtown LA from $129 a month.

Downtown LA and Financial District Coworking

Downtown has the most Metro rail access of any area on our list. In fact, three of the operators sit within a few blocks of 7th Street/Metro Center or Pico station.

Serendipity Labs on Wilshire Boulevard

Serendipity Labs takes the 7th and 8th floors of 915 Wilshire Blvd. That is a 22-story Class A tower in the Financial District. A day pass costs $25, and a private day office costs $59 a person.

For regulars, the unlimited plan costs $249 a month. The 10-day plan costs $169 a month. On top of that, $49 a month adds drop-in visits at other Serendipity Labs sites. Monthly plans carry no setup charge or deposit, and unlimited members can pause once a year for 30 days.

However, check the hours. Members get the lounge from 7am to 7pm on weekdays. Day pass holders get 8:30am to 5pm. Cancelling the unlimited plan takes 30 days’ written notice. The building has a secure garage with reserved options and EV charging, but Serendipity Labs prints no parking rates.

WeWork at 1150 South Olive in South Park

WeWork’s 1150 S Olive St is its only Downtown building. A day pass costs $39, and a dedicated desk costs $342 a month. Also, All Access Plus costs $289 a month on a 12-month plan, or $339 without one.

Transit is the draw here. Pico station, on the A and E lines, is about five minutes on foot. As a result, the building scores 100 out of 100 for transit on the Walk Score scale that WeWork shows. Staff are on site from 8am to 5pm on weekdays, and the building lists parking but no rate.

Regus and Spaces Towers Around Bunker Hill

Regus Downtown Los Angeles coworking page listing 777 South Alameda, US Bank Tower and City National Plaza with US dollar prices
Screenshot: regus.com

Regus lists a coworking day from $49 in Downtown LA. Its coworking membership opens at $129 a month. But Regus sells that membership as 5-day, 10-day or unlimited plans, so ask which one the $129 rate covers.

Dedicated desks cost $139 to $279 a person a month. Even so, those prices assume a 24-month contract. The three Downtown centres are City National Plaza at 515 South Flower Street and US Bank Tower at 633 West Fifth Street. The third is 777 South Alameda in the Arts District.

For private rooms, City National Plaza is the cheapest at $145 a person a month. On the other hand, 777 South Alameda costs $295. Regus also lists the Fine Arts Building at 811 W. 7th Street for $219 a person a month. For transit, it points 777 South Alameda riders to the line once called the Gold Line.

Industrious at 5th and Flower

Industrious runs a floor at 444 South Flower Street, on the 13th level. It sells coworking by the day or month, but it shows no prices on its LA pages. So you will need a quote. We cover its full LA map in the Valley and Pasadena section, because most of its 19 sites are outside Downtown.

Westside Desks in Santa Monica, Culver City and Century City

Westside desks cost the most on our list. For example, WeWork’s dearest dedicated desk in the region is at 312 Arizona Ave in Santa Monica, at $618 a month. That is almost twice the $314 desk at Warner Center in Woodland Hills.

WeWork Near the Third Street Promenade

Santa Monica has two WeWork buildings. The first is 520 Broadway, Suite 200, steps from the Third Street Promenade. A day pass there costs $39. Then there is 312 Arizona Ave, near the pier, where a dedicated desk costs $618 a month.

Parking is the hidden cost. At 520 Broadway, the garage under the building charges $235 a month unreserved, or $25 a day. In contrast, the train is close. Downtown Santa Monica station, the last stop on the E Line, is the nearest rail stop.

One Culver on Washington Boulevard

One Culver sits at 10000 Washington Blvd. It is one of three WeWork sites with a $49 day pass. Also, its dedicated desk costs $580 a month, the second-highest WeWork desk price we found in LA.

For that price, you get outdoor terraces, a fitness centre and a dog-friendly floor. Culver City station on the E Line is under a mile away. Besides, bus lines 1, 5 and 7 stop within a block, and the I-10 is about five minutes by car. Cyclists get hooks and racks inside.

Century City Towers on Avenue of the Stars

Century City has the densest cluster of brands. Regus prices a dedicated desk at 1901 Avenue of the Stars from $19 a day. At Century Plaza Towers, 2029 Century Park East, the same desk costs from $29 a day. Each centre lists on-site parking.

Next door, WeWork runs Constellation Place, where a dedicated desk costs $408 a month. Industrious adds two floors at 1875 and 1925 Century Park East. Spaces also lists Century Plaza Towers, Suite 400N, on its own page. So a Century City team can tour several brands in one afternoon.

Playa Vista and the Playa District

WeWork’s 12130 Millennium Drive charges $49 for a day pass and $399 for a dedicated desk. Close by, Industrious has the 10th floor of 6060 Center Drive in the Playa District. It also lists an Indy by Industrious site at 12655 West Jefferson Boulevard, due to open in December 2026.

Hollywood, West Hollywood and Beverly Grove Coworking

Spaces West Hollywood coworking page listing day pass, All Access and dedicated desk prices with six Los Angeles area centres

Spaces is the main coworking brand in this part of town. Its day pass costs $89 a person. However, its All Access plan opens at $9 a person a day, and a dedicated desk opens at $14 a day. Spaces says there is no minimum term, and longer terms get discounts.

The six centres on that page are spread out. They are the Hollywood Entertainment & Production Center at 1800 North Vine Street and 925 N. La Brea Ave. Then come 145 South Fairfax Avenue in Beverly Grove and two Beverly Hills floors, at 8383 Wilshire and 468 N Camden Drive. The sixth is Century Plaza Towers.

WeWork adds the Pacific Design Center Red Building in West Hollywood, with a $49 day pass. Industrious, for its part, has two Sunset Boulevard floors at 9229 and 9255 Sunset. It also runs an Indy site at 8484 Wilshire and a floor at 150 S Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.

Valley, Glendale, Pasadena and South Bay Seats

The cheapest WeWork desks in LA sit away from the coast. In fact, the four lowest WeWork dedicated desk prices are all inland. They are Warner Center at $314, Downtown at $342, Glendale at $352 and Pasadena at $361.

WeWork on Lankershim in North Hollywood

5161 Lankershim Blvd charges $468 a month for a dedicated desk on a flexible commitment. A day pass costs $39. Also, a two-person private office starts at $890 a month on a 12-month term.

Drivers should plan ahead, because the building lists no parking of its own. Instead, WeWork points to a garage at 5126 Klump Ave, one block away. North Hollywood station, at the end of the B Line, is 0.9 miles off. Buses 224, 501 and 656 stop at Lankershim and Magnolia, one block from the door.

Warner Center and Glendale on Brand Boulevard

WeWork’s Campus @ Warner Center in Woodland Hills has the lowest dedicated desk price in its LA network, at $314 a month. Over in Glendale, 611 North Brand Boulevard charges $352. On the same street, Industrious runs Suite 2000 at 500 N Brand Blvd, with a mountain-view patio.

Old Pasadena and South Lake Avenue

WeWork at 177 E Colorado Blvd sits near Old Pasadena. A dedicated desk there costs $361 a month, and a day pass costs $39. Meanwhile, Industrious has two Pasadena sites. One is Suite 210 at 21 Miller Alley in Old Pasadena, and the other is Suite 800 at 251 South Lake Avenue.

Industrious Across 19 LA Addresses

Industrious Los Angeles page listing coworking and private office locations across Los Angeles, Pasadena, Glendale, Burbank and the Westside
Screenshot: industriousoffice.com

Industrious has the widest map of any brand here, with 19 LA-area sites. Beyond the ones we named, it lists Burbank at 3400 Riverside Drive and Sherman Oaks at 15301 Ventura Boulevard. Santa Monica, Westwood, Malibu and Marina Del Rey are on the list too.

Prices come by quote only. Still, Industrious sells day passes and meeting rooms to non-members, and its rooms hold up to 25 guests. So a team can try a floor for a day before it asks for a monthly rate.

El Segundo and Long Beach

In the South Bay, WeWork runs 222 Pacific Coast Highway in El Segundo, and Industrious runs 2100 East Grand Avenue. Further south, WeWork’s Long Beach site is called The Hubb. The two WeWork sites sell the $39 day pass, but they show dedicated desk prices only on request.

Annual Desk Budgets We Calculated for Los Angeles

We multiplied each monthly price by 12. For Spaces and the Regus Century City desk, we took the daily rate times 30.4 days to get a month. Then we divided each year by 264 working days, which means 22 office days a month. All figures are list prices before taxes and fees.

The gap between neighborhoods is large. For instance, the same WeWork dedicated desk costs $3,648 more a year in Santa Monica than in Woodland Hills. Also, Serendipity Labs’ unlimited plan costs $480 a year less than WeWork’s 12-month All Access Plus. But WeWork gives you 13 buildings, and Serendipity Labs gives you one.

Then add parking if you drive. At 520 Broadway, a $289 membership plus the $235 garage pass comes to $524 a month, or $6,288 a year. So parking adds 81% to the desk. Our freelance hourly rate calculator folds that overhead into your rate. For a small team, the break-even calculator shows the sales a Westside desk needs.

When a Day Pass Beats a Membership in LA

We divided each monthly plan by the same operator’s day pass. The answer is the office day on which the plan becomes cheaper. So count how many days you really go in.

OperatorDay pass (USD)Monthly plan (USD)Plan is cheaper from
Regus, Downtown LA49129 (membership)Day 3
Spaces89About 274 (All Access)Day 4
WeWork, $49 buildings49289 (12-month plan)Day 6
WeWork, $39 buildings39289 (12-month plan)Day 8
WeWork, $39 buildings39339 (monthly)Day 9
Serendipity Labs25249 (unlimited)Day 10

Serendipity Labs is the odd one out, because its $25 day pass is so cheap. For example, ten day passes cost $250, while the 10-day plan costs $169. That saves $81 a month. Even so, anyone in the office nine days or fewer should buy day passes there.

Parking follows the same math. At 520 Broadway, the $235 monthly pass beats the $25 daily rate from your tenth driving day. A full month of 22 daily tickets would cost $550.

Metro Stops and Parking Near Each Desk

We pulled every transit and parking note the operators print about their own buildings. Then we put them in one table, so you can match a desk to your commute.

Downtown is the only area where you can reliably skip the car. On the other hand, Century City desks come with on-site parking but no rail note. Santa Monica and Culver City sit in between, because the E Line serves both.

Terms, Taxes and Staffed Hours We Flagged

Headline prices in LA often hang on a term printed in small type. We took these points from the operators’ own pages.

  1. Contract length. Regus bases its desk prices on 24-month contracts. WeWork’s $289 rate needs a 12-month plan, while Serendipity Labs and Spaces run month to month.
  2. Taxes and fees. WeWork quotes prices plus taxes and fees. So ask every operator for the total monthly bill before you sign.
  3. Staffed hours. The WeWork building pages we opened show staff on site from 8am to 5pm on weekdays, with no staff at weekends. Serendipity Labs day passes end at 5pm.
  4. Notice periods. Serendipity Labs needs 30 days’ written notice to cancel unlimited coworking. Also, unused meeting and printing credits do not roll over.
  5. Meeting rooms. WeWork’s All Access Plus includes three monthly credits for meeting rooms and private offices. Spaces rooms cost from $45 an hour, and WeWork rooms from $39.
  6. Your company address. WeWork sells a business address for $129 a month, or $110 on a 24-month plan. If you are forming a company, see our guide to registering an LLP in the USA first.

For members who bill clients by the month, our free invoice generator takes the admin off a coworking day. If your team also works abroad, we used the same price math for coworking spaces in Singapore and coworking spaces in Dubai.
