Beauty Salon Names: 200 Ideas With Logo Mockups

Two hundred beauty salon name ideas with logo previews and plain advice on testing, registering and protecting the one you choose.

Choosing a Beauty Salon Name Clients Trust

Most new clients meet your salon on Instagram or Google Maps before they see the shopfront. The name has to read clearly at thumbnail size and still look right painted across a fascia board. Someone booking a brow wax at 10 pm wants to see, in one glance, that you do brows, lashes, skin or makeup.

Clients in this trade respond to names that feel calm and clean. Soft words and flower names work because they hint at the hour of quiet a facial or lash fill gives them. A clear service word such as Brow, Lash or Skin does a lot of work too, since it tells people what to book.

Some words are worn out. Search “beauty salon” on Google Maps in your town and count how many results use Glow, Glam, Luxe, Bliss or Beauty Bar. If five salons within two miles share a word, yours will blur into theirs in the map pack.

Check the name against the places it will live:

  • Sign: past about 18 characters the letters on a standard shop sign get small. Two short words give the signwriter room.
  • Booking app and Instagram icon: the profile picture is a small circle. A name whose first letter is bold and wide, or that shortens to a two-letter monogram, fits inside it.
  • Google Maps: the listing name must match your real-world sign. Stuffing “Best Lashes Near Me” into the profile name breaks Google’s rules and can get the listing suspended.
  • Price list and gift vouchers: a French “Maison” name sets a high price expectation. If your prices are mid-market, it can put off walk-in clients.

Think about growth before you commit. A street name such as “Mill Lane Beauty” suits one site and gets awkward when you open across town. A coined word travels better if you want three branches or your own skincare line later.

To test a shortlist of five, say each name out loud as you would answer the phone. Ask three regular clients which one they remember a week later. Type each into Instagram search and Google Maps to see who already uses it. Drop any name that people spell differently from how they hear it.

After the Name: Booking Sites, Signage and Registration

Start with the web address. Look up the .com and your country ending, such as .co.uk or .in, in our domain name generator. If the exact match is gone, the domain name ideas pages show workable variations such as adding “studio” or your town.

Next, search the trademark register in each country you trade in. Use the USPTO search in the US, the UK IPO search in Britain and the IP India search in India. A cosmetics brand with a similar mark can force a rebrand even if your salon opened first in your town.

Then register the name:

  • India: file the name for approval with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs through RUN-LLP for an LLP or RUN for a private company. Our guide on registering an LLP in India covers the steps.
  • US: file an LLC with your state, or register a DBA if you trade under a name other than your own. The US LLP guide explains which states allow LLPs.
  • UK: Companies House will refuse a name that is the same as one already registered, and words such as “Royal” or “Institute” need extra approval. Sole traders can trade under a name without registering it but cannot add “Ltd”.

Claim the Instagram, TikTok and Facebook handles on the same day you buy the domain. Many salon clients book through the link in an Instagram bio, and a handle with extra underscores looks careless on a business card.

Set up your Google Business Profile with the category “Beauty salon” and your real opening hours. Google usually asks for verification, often by a short video of the premises and signage. Add 10 or more photos of the room and finished work before you open.

Last, order the logo and sign, and set up an invoice template for gift vouchers and bridal packages with our invoice generator. If the name is still open, run a few more options through the business name generator before you pay a signwriter.

Salon Naming Mistakes That Put Clients Off

  • One-service names when you plan to grow. “The Lash Room” gets awkward the day you add facials and waxing.
  • Medical words. “Clinic”, “Derma” or “Medi” suggest a doctor is on site. Clients and regulators may treat that as a medical claim.
  • Names close to a cosmetics brand. A salon name that echoes a well-known makeup or skincare label invites a legal letter.
  • Spellings people cannot guess. Swapping “ph” for “f” or adding silent letters means clients type it wrong in Instagram and never find you.
  • Trend words. A name built on one technique, such as a lash style that is popular this year, dates fast.
  • Puns that read badly. Read every pun aloud and check it in the other languages your clients speak. A cheeky name on a bridal price list can feel off.
  • French or Italian words you cannot say with confidence. If you hesitate saying it on the phone, clients will mispronounce it in reviews.
